  • Skee Ball – Apple’s Current #1 Download

    January 5th, 2010 § 0

Apple’s current #1 download is Skee-Ball! On Christmas Day, Freeverse sold 47,926 copies of Skee-Ball at $0.99 generating roughly $33,000 in sales after Apple’s 30% cut.

Bring the fun of the boardwalk to the palm of your hand with 3D graphics, great physics, and awesome prizes. A true American classic.

While scoring points, you can grab star bonuses that offer multipliers. As you try to beat your high score, you gain tickets to reedem items to add to your loot or change the experience of the game. With the addition of Plus+ that shows the leaderboards and awards it is a hit.

The main part of skee-ball is trying to interact with the physics of the runway and the holes. Freeverse nailed this with their Nvidia physics engine that shows realistic bounces and speed as you try to make your way to the top. Hopefully this engine will be incorporated into other games to add this wonderful realistic feel.

Skee-Ball is easy to learn and easier to love: Play by simply flicking your finger across the screen or making a bowling motion. Tilt the iPhone/iPod Touch to add spin. Simple to play, almost impossible to stop playing!

Doodle Jump – Number One iPhone App

    January 5th, 2010 § 0

Doodle Jump charts in Apple’s Top 10 most downloaded paid apps. Users admit it’s their most favorite though EXTREMELY addicting game! It also made top ten in Top 100 most blogged about iPhone apps of 2010
    list.

In Doodle Jump, you guide The Doodler—using some of the most subtle and accurate tilt controls in existence. The cool features like jetpacks and spring shoes make this app more successful than PapiJump App.

There are a several obstacles Doodler must evade in the game:

Monsters – There are five different types of monsters which the player must shoot at, jump on top of, or avoid in order to not be knocked down and sent to the “Game Over” screen.
Boss Monster – This monster is much more difficult to shoot than the other monsters because it moves around the screen, and has to be shot 5 times to be killed. It will still die with a single jump.
UFOs – UFOs abduct Doodler when it jumps underneath them, ending the game. The shield accessory does not protect Doodler against a UFO. You can shoot a UFO.
Black holes – Black holes are similar to UFOs and monsters, but cannot be destroyed. If Doodler touches one, it is sucked inside and the game ends.

But the core gameplay remains the same: jump as high as you can to increase your score, and your game ends when you misjudge a jump and fall off the bottom of the screen. Doodle Jump also marks the name and height of previous high scores–your own and from Doodle Jumpers around the world–along the edge of the screen, making this already great game even more addictive.

Version 1.13.2 includes YETTI monster boss in snow mode.

iPhone Battery Life – When to Upgrade?

    January 4th, 2010 § 0

The iPhone has pretty good battery life compared to many other phones. Nevertheless, if your iPhone is 2 years old it might need a battery upgrade.

Unlike many other mobile phones (particularly smartphones), iPhone lacks a removable battery. This means that once your iPhone battery stops holding a good charge, it should be replaced.

There is an informative and rather amusing site (run by Apple) to help iPhone users keep their batteries in good shape. One of the big things mentioned is heat, which will do bad things to your battery life. iPhones need to be kept out of places like hot cars, and also may need to be removed from their cases if the case makes them hot when charging. The usual battery life suspects make an appearance too, reminding you to keep your phone locked as much as possible and to turn your Bluetooth and WiFi off when not needed. iPhone owners should also turn on Auto-Brightness and turn off the equalizer to minimize battery drain. Last but not least, keep your iPhone updated, since future firmware versions may help your battery life.

With a little care, the iPhone battery should be serving you for a while. But once the battery capacity begins to trickle you have to decide on where to replace your iPhone battery.

There are a lot of You Tube videos on how to replace iPhone Battery, but if you are not an iPhone repair guru, you better not try doing it. The DIY iPhone repair might come out very expensive if something is broken.

If you are not sure you can replace your iPhone battery by yourself , order our iPhone Battery Replacement Service. We offer 24 hour turn around service. Which means, when you mail your iPhone to us it gets fixed same day and shipped back to you. Very easy and convenient.

    Circletris – Round iPhone Game

    December 19th, 2009 § 0

The recipe: one part of the tetris, one part of zuma or a Rubik’s cube (to your taste), two parts of trotyl, add some ice and mix properly in a blender! This is the aproximate description of Circletris – new game for iPhone and iPod touch.

So what is Circletris like? Let’s have a closer look at the our cocktail’s ingredients. Tetris represents a brick which is the basis of Circletris: in the game something is dropped and you are to do something with it.

Rubik’s cube is our “second” brick: red to red, blue to blue, same game principle.

Trotyl, perhaps, is the key component, cement attaching two bricks, something new and “explosive”, the new approach to management: here you will not find a boring, rectangular game field. You have a circle infront of you broken into cells. Multi-coloured cells show up on the screen. But instead of directing the cells you have to arrange the game field underneath by rotating it around the center.

Well and at last – ice. It represents various bonuses. Some of them are good – a chance to clear a row or a column; and some are not – black holes. Hitting these holes will mix up your cells, will bring full confusion.

The whole dish is plentifully flavoured by a good sound and a pleasant picture.

Circletris doesn’t have anything unnecessary. So nothing will prevent you from plunging into gaming process.

Nonetheless, EA one of the largest publisher and developer keeps walking its track releasing more and more new artworks, being able to make a lot of money and not to be sold at the auction like some of its competitors.

As per EA iPHone Need for Speed will have great graphics, original soundframe, and as usual interesting gameplay. The best news is probably we should expect Need For Speed Shift in App Store in a week or two.

Dakar 2010 – Volkswagen Rally iPhone App

    December 19th, 2009 § 0

    Dakar 2010 Rally iPhone App

“Volkswagen Rally mobile – Dakar 2010″ application is available for free download at Apple store since December 11. It provides all relevant information – latest news, race results, videos and background information directly to the user’s display.

iPhone users will therefore be informed about the Dakar programme of the five Race Touareg vehicles from Volkswagen, which will compete on the off-road classic route that leads through Argentina and Chile, from January 2 to 16 2010 as the title defender.

Along with news mesages about the results of the race and interviews with the team members of Volkswagen, the application also contains a set of interactive multimedia tools. “Rally mobile” allows you to receive the latest three-minute video reports from the stages of the race, conversations of Volkswagen crew and photos from the scene.

The application also includes multimedia contents and interactive features. ‘Rally mobile’ provides daily video summaries of the stages that last about three minutes. In addition, they are provided with interesting facts about Carlos Sainz, Giniel de Villiers and the rest of the team, thanks to the extensive biographical information supplied about the drivers and co-drivers.

“Rally mobile” app will keep the user informed of all the updates either the results of daily races and the overall distribution of positions, or any other information about the rally itself.

Transfer Applications From iPhone 3G to 3GS

    December 19th, 2009 § 0

To move information from iPhone 3g iPhone 3GS follow these steps:

1.Make sure you have the latest version of iTunes and iPhone OS. Download the latest version of iTunes and remember to install it after you download it.

2.Connect your iPhone 3G to iTunes and sync it. Verify that your iPhone 3G is backed up. For more information on how to do this, see iPhone backups guide.

Be sure to transfer any purchased apps on your iPhone 3G to iTunes by synching or right-clicking the device tab and selecting “Transfer Purchases.” You then will be able to sync the apps from iTunes to the new iPhone 3GS.

3.Connect iPhone 3GS to iTunes (on the same computer you used to back up your iPhone 3G).

4.iTunes will ask you if you want to restore from a backup or set up iPhone 3GS as a new phone. When prompted, select the backup of your iPhone 3G. If iTunes does not prompt you to select a backup to restore when you connect iPhone 3Gs, use iTunes to restore iPhone OS on your iPhone 3GS and try this step again.
Note: During the process of restoring your old backup to a new iPhone 3GS, you may see the iTunes progress bar pause. If this occurs, please allow for additional time for the upgrade to complete.

5.After iTunes finishes restoring the backup you selected to iPhone 3Gs, it will restart.

6.When iPhone 3GS appears again in the iTunes window, select it.

7.Click the tabs (Music, Photos, and so on) and verify or change the items you want to sync.

8.Click Apply to sync iPhone 3GS with iTunes.

9.Verify that your saved SMS messages, email accounts, passwords, photos, notes, and other personal settings are present on your iPhone 3G. Note that you will be required to enter your email account and voicemail passwords again. If you do not remember your voicemail password, you can reset it.
Note: If saved SMS messages, email accounts, photos, notes, or other personal settings are not present on your new iPhone 3GS, then restore-from-backup may not have been successful. In that case, verify your original iPhone is properly backed up (see step 2), then use iTunes to restore iPhone OS on iPhone 3GS and continue following these instructions at step 3.

    Remove iPhone Duplicate Contacts

    December 19th, 2009 § 0

A new feature in iPhone OS 3.x.x could cause users who have been syncing their handheld to both MobileMe and their Mac (iTunes) to end up with two complete sets of entries — i.e. one for the Mac and a second for MobileMe. The problem is that iPhone OS 3.x.x now allows a user to sync both accounts at the same time, hence the second group of Calendar and Address Book entries.

Here, the trick is to disable Mac to iPhone syncing and leave MobileMe active (your Mac needs to sync there, too). So, with your iPhone tethered to your Mac, iTunes running and your device highlighted, go to Info and deselect any and all syncable items.

However, you’ll still have to remove an extra group of contacts on your iPhone—here’s how to get rid of them:

    On your iPhone or touch:

    • Choose Settings >Mail, Contacts, Calendars, then tap your account, and slide to Off.
    • When prompted, select Delete from My iPhone/iPod touch.

Now you need to re-enable syncing:
    • Choose Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars, then tap your account to slide the data type on.
    • When prompted, select Merge with MobileMe
